The Glass Works is a £180m development project which has already regenerated the heart of Barnsley’s town centre, since works began two years ago. Once complete in 2021, The Glass Works will provide a modern and contemporary retail and leisure destination for the residents of Barnsley and beyond.
Appointed in 2017 by Henry Boot Construction, we have provided on-going independent Clerk of Works services across all phases of the development so far. Our involvement began with inspecting the quality of the new state-of-the-art Library @ the Lightbox – a new innovative community space, offering activities for all ages with quiet zones for study and reflection.
Following this, quality inspections have extended to the new retail and leisure areas, the famous award-winning Barnsley Markets and new Public Square and public realm.
