Delivering contemporary student accommodation in Middlesbrough

We are thrilled to have been awarded the contract to provide both Build and M&E Clerks of Works services during the construction of the high specification student accommodation building at Cornell Quarter and will be working directly for Teesside University. The stylish residential complex will comprise a 300-bed space of new student accommodation including public realm and car parking.

Teesside University is investing £21.4M in high quality student accommodation, located in the heart of Middlesbrough and only a very short walk away from the town campus. The aspiration is for a new student quarter that will enhance peoples’ perception of the University. The overall quality of this scheme is therefore key to marking the aspiration real.

We began onsite in July 2019 with works scheduled to be completed later in 2020. The accommodation will have a designed life expectancy of 60 years with minimal maintenance and running costs, also designed to be environmentally conscious and energy efficient.

Teesside University, who are celebrating their 90th years’ anniversary of providing innovative education, have over recent years invested over £275m in the town campus in the heart of Middlesbrough and will be investing an additional £300m up to 2026.

We have worked for numerous Universities over the last 28 years and have developed a great understanding of their project requirements – this coupled with our student accommodation expertise, is ensuring that the new build project will be delivered against the quality plan.
