Turner & Townsend have appointed us to provide Clerk of Works for the development of a new Boys faith academy at Thornton Road, Bradford. We have assigned a local Building Clerk of Work to undertake on-site Quality Inspections over a sixty-five-week period.
The school, run by Star Academies Trust, has been operating from a temporary site since it opened its doors last September. The trust has seen a year-on-year rise in pupils applying to attend the school, therefore the Department for Education produced plans for the brand-new £17m academy, featuring its own private sporting facilities and parking capacity for 132 cars, this will allow the trust to accommodate additional students and offer further recruitment opportunities.
The three-storey building, being built on the derelict site of former the Morrisons headquarters, will accommodate for an 800-pupil Muslim faith-based secondary school, for boys aged eleven to nineteen.
