Helping a local boy pursue his USA hockey dreams

Local Hoyland boy, Noah Foster, has been selected to join the 2017 Inline Young Guns hockey team to play in Michigan USA this summer. The team will be travelling to the Taylors Sports Complex, Detroit to take part in the 2017 USA State Wars Tournament which takes place over two weeks in July and August. The tournament is prestigious, being one of the world’s largest Inline Hockey tournaments and is only the second time a non-USA team has been invited to take part in it.

This is a tremendous achievement for the 8-year-old who first started playing at the tender age of 4 and was selected above 80 other children trialling for a position on the UK team. Noah joined an under 8’s team that saw him playing in BIPHA CENTRAL tournaments which helped towards building his confidence enough to trial for the UK Young Guns team. Noah finally received confirmation last December that he had been selected. Noah currently plays for a Sheffield-based hockey team and is also furthering his hockey dream by playing with the under 9’s Sheffield Ice Academy and is currently trialling for the under 11’s team.

This USA experience will help him develop his hockey skills and will give him the chance to sample life away from home and should equip him with skills that will help him in his future life.

‘We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to sponsor Noah to play in the USA. He is a local boy who has huge potential and we wish him the very best with his tournament and I’m sure that he has a successful hockey career ahead of him.’ – Marketing and Business Development Manager, Kathy Clarke
