Multiple award winner – The Piece Hall, Halifax

Transforming one of Yorkshire’s most iconic Heritage buildings The Piece Hall, it comes as no surprise that this stunning £19m transformation programme has been awarded both ‘Project of the Year’ and regeneration awards at the RICS Yorkshire and Humber awards in May, and was shortlisted in the category of Building conservation at the same award ceremony.

The highly acclaimed Project of the Year title is presented to the category winner that demonstrates overall outstanding best practice and an exemplary commitment to adding value to its local area.

The transformation has seen the building, which re-opened its doors in summer 2017, house a myriad of independent and artisan shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, alfresco eating, creative businesses and a world-class programme of dance, film, visual arts and music events.

On February 16th of this year The Piece Hall even hosted a royal visit by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, which saw them mark the occasion by ringing the original trading bell and unveiling a new commemorative plaque.

The Grade I listed building is a monument to this time and was also 2017 Angel Awards joint winner for Best Rescue of an Historic Building.
