We are currently undertaking independent inspections on a 18,814 sqm development in Eddington, Cambridge, on behalf of client Gardiner & Theobald.
The lot was acquired by pioneering hospitality group, edyn, and will become the eleventh location for the group’s boutique aparthotel brand, Locke, continuing its rapid European expansion since its first opening, Leman Locke, in London in 2016. Furthermore, edyn has entered into an agreement to develop and operate a 150-room Hyatt Centric Hotel, the first of its kind in the UK.
The site is part of the first phase of the University of Cambridge’s development of Eddington, which will serve as a focal point for the new community. The project, designed by Sterling Prize-winning architects dRMM, will comprise a 180-key Locke aparthotel, with studio to one and two bedroom apartments; a 150-key Hyatt Central hotel; along with a basement car park for 65 bays (with an additional 10 at grade); and a central landscaped courtyard. The building will also feature a restaurant, cocktail bar, coffee shop, retail space, co-working facilities, meeting rooms and event space.
