We are happy to be involved in bringing High Tunstall College of Science a brand-new lease of life, improving facilities for its students. Commencing works in August 2018, we are providing Building and M&E Clerk of Works services on behalf of our long-lasting client, Faithful + Gould, throughout construction which is due to complete in mid-2020.
This £17m secondary school project, delivered by the DfE through the Priority School Building Programme, will replace 75% of the existing building and accommodate 130 staff and over 1,300 students. Secondary pupil numbers are expected to rise by 14.7% over the next 10 years and this project will ensure that the pupils of High Tunstall College of Science will gain a quality education with state-of-the-art facilities for years to come.
Specialising in Sciences located on the top floor, the new building will consist of English and Maths classrooms on the middle floor as well as a brand new library space for students to study and collaborate. The ground floor will be the hub of the building featuring a main hall, four court sports halls as well as dance studio and theatre, the latter will be accessible to the public, creating brand new facilities for the local community.

In addition to creating more space for students, the College will also accommodate a dedicated area to support Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) students to receive mainstream education within the modernised facilities.
