Mascot Management, Sheffield-based construction management company, sought our Clerk of Works services to provide Quality inspections and reporting for Leeds Skelton Lake Services – a new concept Motorway Service Area built by Extra MSA Group on the M1 motorway at junction 45, situated to the East of Leeds.
The overall Development, designed by Leeds-based Architects, Corstorphine + Wright, provides one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly Motorway Service Areas in the country. The design of the Amenity Building incorporates a unique living green roof with a mix of wildflower and sedum greenroof covering – and Wildlife Visitor Centre, with views across the adjacent Skelton Lake.
We were employed by Extra MSA Group to oversee the quality of the Building and M&E aspects of Leeds Skelton Lake Services, a three phased £64m development.
“Initially we were approached to manage the quality of installation of the green roof on the Kemper Water proofing system, however due to our Site Inspector having specific experience working on hotels and working with the material Glulam Beam, we were invited to oversee the quality of all the construction work.”
