The Wave – Coventry’s new water park

We are delighted to be involved in the construction of Coventry’s £36.7M new water park, The Wave, which opens its doors later this year.

Both the Spire and Christchurch House have been demolished making way for the new water park, whose name ‘The Wave’ was inspired by the curved design of the building.

Once completed, the water park and leisure centre will provide six slides, a lazy river, wave pool, day spa, 25-metre swimming pool and a fitness gym along with other leisure facilities. It is hoped that these new high quality facilities will encourage local residents from a young age to exercise more as well as attracting new visitors to Coventry.

“We have gained a lot of experience over the years about the intricacies of water parks having been involved in the inspection of them country wide from Huddersfield to Blackburn, Scarborough and Wakefield. This is the second leisure centre project that we have worked on with the team at Hadron Consulting Ltd, London based Project Management specialists who work on high profile projects across the UK, to provide Building Clerks of Works services.”

Group Managing Director, Tony Mobbs

“We are pleased to be utilising the Quality Site Inspection expertise provided by Hickton throughout the construction phase of this exciting new leisure facility in Coventry. We require a quality project throughout and the Clerks of Works are providing independent inspections and are on site to identify construction defects which would have compromised the quality outcome.”

Director, Hadron Consulting Ltd, Peter Curtis
