To celebrate Women in Construction week, we have caught up with one of our Clerk of Works who answered a few questions about her role in the industry.

What is your role at Hickton Quality Control?
“Over the last 5 years, I have provided Clerk of Works services for Hickton Quality Control’s clients in London and the Southeast. I have had the opportunity to work on many high profile projects, including several Faithfull and Gould school projects, House of Commons, Battersea Power Station, Portman estates and social housing projects.”

What advice would you give women thinking of entering this industry?
“It gives you the chance to take up roles which aren’t office based and gives you a practical sense of achievement as buildings progress in whatever part of that you are involved.”
