Working on student accommodation projects across the UK

There has been a global boom of investment in student accommodation during the past few years and the UK has been at the forefront of this trend.

According to an analysis of pipeline development-data across more than 60 university towns and cities in the UK, some 23,000 purpose-built student bedrooms are due to be completed by the end of the 2018/19 academic year.

Private sector developments account for 84% of the total beds due to be completed in 2018/19 and a further 11,000 beds are currently under construction or are in planning to be delivered in 2019 and 2020. *

Being a provider of Quality Site Inspectors across the UK, our inspection skills are being utilised across a vast amount of student accommodation projects at leading universities in addition to many private schemes.

Our latest student accommodation project is in Coventry, where we have both Building and M&E expertise on site to inspect the quality throughout the construction process. Appointed by Coventry Parkside Developments. we provide Quality Inspection services to ensure that the project is delivered to the standards agreed contractually.

‘We were approached by Coventry Parkside Developments to provide both Building & M&E inspection services for their scheme in Coventry. This is a purpose-built Student Accommodation Scheme due for completion in 2018.’

Operations Manager, Jon King

We have also provided site inspection services for several student accommodation schemes for Downing – who has successfully completed over £1b of developments and is expanding its presence across the UK to deliver more than £700m new landmark schemes in the most prestigious student cities.

Other student schemes include many Vita Student villages for Select Properties in Leeds, Birmingham, Southampton, Newcastle, York and Glasgow and projects such as the Central Village for The University of Leeds and St Marks Flats in Leeds.

Quality Site Inspectors are also known as Clerks of Works, are a vital part of the design team during construction. For the past 27 years we have been championing Quality in Construction by being the clients’ ‘eyes and ears’ on site, checking for quality and identifying any defects and issues that may compromise the quality of the project.
