Working with The University of Hull – Aura, Innovation Centre

Being included on the University of Hull Consultancy Framework we are proud to be working on the ground-breaking project for the Humber Low-Carbon Energy Innovation Centre (Aura Innovation Centre).

Works commenced in December 2018 and consist of the construction of circa 2,600 m sq. three-storey office block and attached two-storey warehouse building located close to Humber Bridge, Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Working directly for the University of Hull, we are providing the M&E Clerk of Works services for the project, which once completed, is set to provide large businesses and SMEs with the space to collaborate and innovate to deliver low-carbon energy and clean growth.

Aura combines 15 years of academic expertise with industry know-how in the UK’s Energy Estuary to make renewable energy a viable solution across the world.  Combining University of Hull research with the practical realities experienced in industry to shape the future of offshore wind and drive innovation in the sector.

“We were pleased to have Hickton involved at such an early stage overseeing the M&E works, working together with the contractor and MEP sub-contractors. It feels like they are an extension to our own team, being our eyes and ears on site, ensuring a consistently high standard of quality of workmanship throughout the duration of the works.”

Project Manager, Mark Sleight
