Project: Unite Students, Selly Oak
Client: Landsec
We provided Building Clerk of Works for the newly completed student accommodation at Selly Oak, on behalf of our client Landsec.
Construction work began in July 2018, taking ten months to complete the 17-floor building, sited on the grounds of former metal factories known as the ‘Birmingham Battery Company’, which was vacant since 1980.

Project: Zenith Student Accommodation, Cardiff
Client: Fusion Students
Working on behalf of Fusion Students, we provided site inspections on this £40m, 26-storey tower development based on a tight city centre site. The project was erected on a small triangular piece of land in the middle of the city centre, there is a busy railway line running down one side, the feeder canal to Bute East Dock on the other side and a busy city road to the front. This meant that extra attention was needed to ensure everything was constructed correctly as there was little room for mistakes to be rectified.
Project: VITA Student Westgate
Client: Select Property
This development in Newcastle comprises 259, self-contained studio apartments over seven floors. Each apartment has been fully furnished with high-spec amenities to a state-of-the-art finish.
We have built up a strong working relationship with VITA and have undertaken inspections on their new build student accommodation projects in York, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Southampton.

Project: The Railyard
Client: Downing
Located in one of the world’s most prestigious University cities and part of the wider CB1 regeneration scheme of Cambridge railway station and its surrounding areas, this £75 million development provides 585 student beds across 3 new buildings. The development features a mixture of contemporary cluster flats and studios. The broader CB1 development includes commercial space, residential apartments, retail, restaurants and bars.

Project: The Lyra, North Acton
Client: Downing
This £30m scheme features 209 high quality studio apartments. The accommodation is across 2 adjacent 7 storey buildings with retail at ground floor. The development was designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘excellent’ and included the creation of 2 new community parks, a pocket park and a biodiversity park.

Project: Downing Plaza
Client: Downing
Phase 1 – New Business School, University of Newcastle. We provided Building and M&E Clerks of Works services on this new build project.
Phase 2 – Central Link. This project was the construction of 520 student bedrooms built across 3 blocks of accommodation
Phase 3 – Central St James. We provided Building Clerk of Works services on this new 332 student accommodation block, which was a mixture of en-suite cluster bedrooms and studio apartments.
Phase 4 – The Ceres. We provided Building Clerk of Works services on this project for Downing.

Project: Central Village
Client: Downing Development
We worked in partnership with Downing Development on this student accommodation project at the University of Leeds. Over 2 separate phases this project saw the construction of over 900 student apartments in a magnificent 21 storey new build tower.

Project: The Comet Hotel Hatfield, London
Client: Fusion Students
This exciting project that we provided Building and M&E Clerks of Works services to was a conversion to the landmark The Comet Hotel in Hatfield to create a 99 bed hotel and adjacent 361 bed student accommodation with a bold modern design compromising of 4 interlinked buildings.
