How much site supervision does your project actual How much site supervision does your project actually need? Under NEC contracts, the right level of Supervisor engagement isn't just about project complexity, it's about risk exposure. The less time a Supervisor spends on site, the more that gets built before anyone checks it. Post-completion faults and repairs alone can account for roughly 3% of project costs. That's why we structure NEC Supervisor engagement across three scope levels: 👉 Scope 1 - Lighter-touch oversight for lower-complexity projects. Periodic site visits, defect notification, and a single handover visit. Suits simpler builds, but carries the highest risk exposure from limited visitation. 👉 Scope 2 - Increased pre-construction input and regular site attendance, with quality-focused reporting and greater handover support. 👉 Scope 3 - Full oversight for complex or high-value projects. Near full-time site presence, complete programme/quality/risk/resource reporting, and ongoing post-completion support. Lowest risk exposure, nothing gets missed.
