  • Audley Retirement Awards – Village of the Year 2018

Project Description:

The village is home to 90 luxury apartments, each of which are individually owned by the occupant. During our time on site it was important our Clerk of Works not only understood our clients needs, but also the needs of the individuals who would occupy the homes, so we could ensure the apartments were built with their future in mind and with flexibility built in.

A high quality finish was at the top of our clients requirements to enable them to offer the ‘Audley Club’ to all in the village, this includes a luxury health club, a hair salon, swimming pool, library and a fine dining restaurant. Audley Retirement held their annual Conference and Awards in January 2018 and particular congratulations went to Audley Clevedon, who were awarded ‘Village of the Year’.

The Balk, Pocklington

Client: Home Group

Discipline: Building Clerks of Works services

Value: £965,700

Project details

The land was owned by Mulgrave Properties, and the £1 million development consisted of 40 two-storey homes, featuring a mix of smaller terraced units and larger detached properties. Of the total, 25% were allocated as affordable housing. The client aimed to give the house designs a contemporary feel, in contrast to the more traditional neighbouring sites. To achieve this, the scheme incorporated modern window styles, artstone detailing, and projecting bays. Materials such as anthracite windows and doors, black bargeboards and fascias, and smooth dark grey roof tiles were carefully selected to create a striking contrast.

“There has been constant communication throughout the whole scheme. The Clerk of Works was very helpful and contributed to a high-quality product.”
