Starting life as a super-cinema in the 1920s, this much-loved historic building is being re-purposed to offer the work spaces of the future, with a design which pays homage to its past.
The Majestic building originally opened its doors in 1922 as a cinema and ballroom. The new design will reference and re-interpret the original cinema screen within the 3-storey atrium which will create a grand, inspiring entrance for visitors and occupiers, together with the re-introduction of the historic Palm Court lightwell to the rear of the building, with the original façade forming the ‘wrapper’ to Grade A floorspace providing a unique working environment – in a location right opposite the City’s railway station.
