Hickton Clerks of Works shortlisted for ICWCI awards 2019

Each year The ICWCI present The Building on Quality Awards to celebrate the achievements of remarkable Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectors, recognising individuals who have gone above and beyond within their role on a construction project.

With that in mind, we are pleased to confirm that Graham Foster and David Pugh are both shortlisted for projects in recognition for their Clerks of Works expertise. This is exciting news for them individually, the extended construction teams and indeed for us as a nationwide Quality Site Inspection Consultancy.

Graham Foster has been recognised for two projects which include The Dewsbury Learning Quarter and Minsthorpe Leisure Centre. Graham worked on the Dewsbury Learning Quarter project from March 2017 through to April 2018 for Kirklees College as their Building Clerk of Works two days a week to oversee all phases of construction. He successfully reported on all areas of the Build ensuring a high-quality project throughout.

He also worked on the multi-million pounds Minsthorpe Leisure Centre, which comprises an impressive 25 metre, six lane swimming pool, studio space and 50 station air-conditioned gym on behalf of our client, Wakefield Council.

“With over 40 years construction industry experience, Graham is a perceptive forward-thinking team leader with considerable client facing skills and commercial acumen. He pro-actively embraces the pursuit of total safety on site, improving quality and sustainability whilst achieving best value for clients.”

David Pugh has been recognised for his involvement on the £32m Audley St George’s Place retirement village in Edgbaston. He worked one day a week from May 2016 through to November 2017 inspecting the build aspects of the project throughout three phases of construction.

“David has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry and has excellent practical and technical knowledge of construction which he utilises on an array of projects. He consistently ensures that projects run smoothly, efficiently to budget and on time which are key factors attributed to the overall success for this retirement project for our client Quartz Project Services.”

The Building on Quality Awards will take place on Saturday 18th May 2019 at the Holiday Inn, Taunton, comprising a drinks reception, the awards presentation, gala dinner and entertainment.

Good luck to Graham Foster (MICWCI) and David Pugh (MICWCI); we wish them both the very best of luck from all the team at Hickton.
