Percy Gee Building & Brookfield Campus Redevelopment

We are thrilled to be appointed as Quality Site Inspectors on behalf of our existing client, Pulse Consult, on two major projects for the University of Leicester – Percy Gee Building and Brookfield Campus re-development.

With works having commenced on site in April 2018 with an imminent completion date, our M&E Clerk of Works is working tenaciously on site at the Percy Gee Building to oversee quality workmanship ready for the anticipated occupation of the end client, University of Leicester, to occupy the redeveloped building in Spring 2020.

Named after H. Percy Gee (1874 – 1962), a director of local shoe firm Stead & Simpson who was an early benefactor and promoter of the university, the building benefited from an award-winning transformation between 2008 – 2011. Now with a contract value of £13.9M, the latest works involve partial demolition, refurbishment and extension of the existing Student Union Building’s eastern west wing to improve and double the amount of social learning space for students.

Students will benefit from a brand-new spacious food court, alternative facilities and high-quality multi-use spaces.

The Brookfield Campus Redevelopment, the new name for the business school, will see the historic 19th century Brookfield House on London Road brought back to life with a modern twist. The works valued at £8.7M will involve the demolition of an existing 20th century extension, refurbishment of the of the historic house to support teaching and learning at the new state-of-the-art business School with the new lecture theatre and seminar rooms.
