We work on a diverse range of construction projects across all regions of the UK, having over one hundred Quality Site Inspectors strategically placed to provide a local service every time. We are therefore excited to communicate that we are currently providing Client Advisor Services for the first phase of the £2.3 million reinstatement of the Weardale Railway, by our experienced Inspector based in this area.
Weardale Railway, a newly established subsidiary of North East regeneration charity The Auckland Project, has launched a campaign to revitalise the western section of the historic Stockton to Darlington Railway, which stretches from Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham westwards for nearly twenty miles into the heart of Weardale.
The plans have received support from Durham County Council, with Councillors approving £2.1 million of vital match funding in September 2020 to enable essential infrastructure works to bring the line back into use as a key resource for tourism, transport and local employment.
Appointed by Weardale Railway, our Site Inspector is working closely with the Engineers to deliver preconstruction advice for the provision of vital under bridge structural repairs and level crossing upgrade works.
The Weardale Railway staff will be responsible for undertaking repair works to the Permanent Way, including sleeper, rail and ballast replacements, and volunteers will execute minor refurbishment works to bring the stations back to life.
“We are pleased to be providing technical expertise at this early stage of construction. We have an experienced Site Inspector providing professional Client Advisor Services throughout the first stage of operational works, which will support the construction teams to deliver a quality service.”
Resource Manager, Aaron Jones
