Retirement wishes for our Business Development Consultant David Jones

We will shortly be saying our fond farewells to David Jones, our Business Development Consultant, who will be retiring from our company at the end of next month.

David first joined us in 2012 to help raise the profile of the Clerk of Works role bringing with him years of experience to the Business Development team. During his time with us, David has developed valuable and lasting relationships with new and existing clients, consultants and contractors in the North and Midlands promoting our Quality Site Inspection service and lately the Building Control services offered by our sister company BRCS.

We are enormously grateful to David and acknowledge the many doors which he has opened and bringing in countless new clients and opportunities in these regions and beyond.

Many of ‘these doors’ include high-profile projects such as Allerdale Leisure Centre with Pick Everard; Riseholme Campus for Bishop Burton College with Thornton Firkin; Project Godiva in Coventry with Green Project Management Ltd and Boston Grammar School in Lincoln with Lincolnshire County Council. Most recently the Hudson House project in York with Emmaus Consulting and the Campus Development Phase 2 for Leeds College of Building with CPC Project Services.

David Jones, “During my 50 years in the industry I have met and done business with many interesting people and made lots of friends and acquaintances whilst working for both major national and local construction companies and consultants. I will miss the camaraderie of the industry and particularly the excellent team at Hickton; I wish them every success in the future. Having recently been appointed 2019 Seniors’ Captain at Wakefield Golf Club, I now hope my golf handicap will improve and with more time on my hands I’m sure our garden will also get additional attention.”

David and Managing Director, Tony Mobbs, have known each other for over 20 years working together in other consultancies as well as Hickton. For a number of years, they also shared a common interest with Forum for the Built Environment (FBE). Tony was Regional Director of FBE Yorkshire and David set up the Sheffield City Region branch both of which continue to go from strength to strength.

Tony Mobbs, “David has worked with our Head Office team for the last 6 years. His skills and expertise have been invaluable, raising the profile of Hickton (and lately BRCS) and has generated successful results for our business. Alongside his contribution to our company and wider construction industry, I know that he will be truly missed for his enigmatic and entertaining personality. The team and I wish him all the best with in his retirement.”

David Jones will be notifying his contacts about his retirement from the company which is on Friday 21st December 2018. For any project or resource enquiries after this date, please speak to our Head Office team on 01226 743959 who will be able to assist with any new and or existing enquiries that you may have.
