Godiva Place for Coventry University is a purpose-built student accommodation project comprising of five finger-style blocks ranging from 4 to 9 stories. Each accommodation block is being constructed to maximise light and has acoustic screening built-in to protect students sleep.
The buildings which are constructed on a former brownfield site, previously used by manufacturing firm Norman Hay Plc, will be project managed by Stockport based firm Green Project Management Ltd whose philosophy is to place the ‘environment’ in the heart of their detail.
This is our first appointment by Green Project Management Ltd on behalf of developer Regents Godiva Ltd and involves both Building and M&E services which began on site May this year and will take us through to August 2018.
The building which is being tenanted by Coventry University for the next 30 years will be a mixture of 772 en-suite cluster flats and studios and will include a social hub, ancillary support facilities, car parking and carefully thought-out landscaping. To encourage a more environmentally student community there will be bike storage for over 120 bikes.
‘We are more than delighted to be involved in our first project for Green Project Management Ltd and our Clerks of Works already have extensive experience in this sector. They will provide that much-needed independent view on how the quality of workmanship and materials used comply with contract requirements to help deliver this project to the highest of quality standards.’
